The body Shop

Mabel went off for some professional body work, and lived there for almost a year while other commitments were tended to.  The work there was absolutely fabulous.  A new floor pan and all the bracing as well as rocker panels were replaced and welded in as new.  There were numerous patch panels welded in and an assortment of additional doors and fenders were  scarfed up for renewal parts.  The best fit up was achieved not from replacement fenders and doors but they made good replacement patch panels. It sometimes took two doors to come up with one that was not wasted and yet fit well.  The end result is that all the original doors and fenders are back up on the car and fit like (or better than) original.

The body was also reinstalled onto the frame. The frame had been substantially overhauled and painted. As noted in a previous post, new front disk brakes and renewed front suspension and control as well as new springs all around.  It was put back to a full rolling chassis.

Everything received a good coat of primer and paint.  It is all currently black colored with a good durable top coat.  I will be building the car back in black.  But the top coat in place can be finished and painted in any color scheme we want (TBD)
